Mondays at Blue Angel (more commonly known as The Raz by students and locals) are belting. Entry is cheap and they regularly offer £1 drink deals including Fat Frogs (three WKD's mixed together) and Raz Bombs. Easily one of the best student nights in Liverpool, there’s always loads of students, the vibe is incredible, and they play an eclectic mix of music, so there’s certain to be a few tracks you and your mates can have a dance to.
SKINT at St Peter’s Square will sort you out for Tuesday night madness. The Peacock blares hip-hop, R&B, and bashment tunes. Or you could try Moloko for tech house and disco sounds. Both offer entry from £1 and drinks deals including three Jagerbombs for £6, £4 double vodka mixers, £2 shots, and three VKs for £6.
On Wednesdays, we go to LEVEL. With house, R&B, hip-hop, cheesy pop, and more spread across six rooms over three floors on their Quids In night, it’s no wonder it’s flooded with students. And then there’s also the free toast, cheap bevs, inflatables, and the text the screen feature which is obviously a laugh when you're leathered.

Heebie Jeebies, one of the best student clubs in Liverpool, pops off with Dirty Antics every Thursday. Heebie's has three areas with techno, tech house, disco, hip-hop, R&B, and indie tunes. So even if all your new uni mates have entirely different tastses, you can all be happy here. Oh, and there’s £1 drinks all night, so…
Hugely popular with students, Electrik Warehouse hosts Medication on Fridays, a massive party with free candy floss, glow sticks, and face paint. It’s £3 entry before 23:30, and they serve double vodka mixers for £3 all night. It also hosts Shit Indie Disco on Thursdays and Pandamonium Saturdays.
As mentioned, on Saturdays you could head to Electrik Warehouse for Pandamonium Saturdays. Or you could check out Heebie Jeebies, or just wander around until you find something. Since it’s a Saturday, everywhere will be open and buzzing.
Sundays at Pop World is Industry Night. So if you pick up a job at a bar, this is a shout, giving you 50% off drinks (as long as you prove where you work). But even if you don't work in hospitality, they still offer two for £5 on certain drinks all night long.

Matthew Street
This is one of the wildest parts of Liverpool that you will find. Think stag nights, hen party’s and much more going on. This is not a place for the quiet night out to happen. Of course, there’s the legendary Cavern Club where The Beatles mad a name for themselves but there are other places you should check out such as The Grapes, Flanagan’s Apple, Tube Bar and Flares.

Hangar 34 is a relatively new space in Liverpool. A converted warehouse right in the middle of The Baltic Triangle, it can hold a massive 1000 people. They’ve got a lot of huge events coming up and have been welcoming some of the best DJs since they were founded.
Full capacity events here are absolutely huge and the raves will see you dancing well into the next morning.

Electrik Warehouse was formerly called The Krazyhouse and it’s a four-room nightclub that always has a big student following. There’s always so much going on behind these walls.
Thursdays are taken over by the Shit Indie Disco, whilst other rooms contain nights such as Throwback Thursday’s and Disco Inferno. So, whether its indie tunes, a bit of 00’s nostalgia or funk and soul classics they have something for you here.

The Invisible Wind Factory is one of the most distinctive venues in all of Liverpool and they always manage to get the set design spot on. With a huge capacity they’ve welcomed DJs such as Sam Divine, Jess Bays recently.
A city wide favourite, it’s not hard to see why as it has delivered some truly euphoric nights and memorable sets.

Blackstone Street Warehouse is absolutely huge with a capacity of 10,000 but don’t be intimidated by the size of it. This venue is still capable of delivering the very best clubbing experiences and it’s a place reserved for those truly iconic names.

24 Kitchen is a little bit different to most venues, in the fact that it encompasses so much more than the music. It’s one of the most creative spaces in Liverpool where you’ll find art, poetry, gigs and club nights.
It has a constant flow of inspiring and independent artists coming through its doors and the genres are never limited, anything goes. You could just pick a random night and discover your new favourite artist.
An incredible venue for anyone who loves music, The Jacaranda is a late-night bar with a jukebox and cocktails (or coffee in the daytime) that hosts live music - both DJs and bands - and open mic nights. It’s also a shop with loads of crates of vinyl to dig through.
On the smaller side, The Jacaranda Club offers many intimate sets, album launch shows, signings and more with many names you'll most likely recognise.
Launched in 2003, this warehouse venue has become a huge hitter in the Liverpool gig circuit. Bringing bands to the city soon such as Metronomy, The Flaming Lips and more this is a place that brings artists in from all over the world.
There’s even a secondary room that allows for more intimate gigs and club nights, which allows you to get even closer to your favourites.
St Lukes Bombed Out Church was badly damaged during The Blitz, and it was left derelict for 60 years. It has since been revitalised into a cultural space for theatre, dance and live music. It stands as a testament to community spirit and the power of arts for change.
They put on some amazing shows here with an emphasis on being vibrant and visually bold. It’s a really unique part of Liverpool.

Liverpool's Eventim Olympia hosts some of the medium-sized names in live music including Jake Bugg, Jamie Webster, Belle and Sebastian, and Soul II Soul recently. It was built in 1905 and is one of the few purpose-built indoor circus and variety theatre venues in the country.

Depending on the uni, freshers’ week is usually in September but may extend into October. But the most common Liverpool freshers’ week in 2023 is Monday 18th to Friday 22nd September 2023.
Do I need to provide ID at events?
Yes, the law states all bars, pubs, clubs, and venues require some form of valid ID which proves you are at least 18 years old before letting you in. Accepted forms of ID include a driver’s license or passport.
