Celebrate Willesden

Saturday 12th September 2015

No venue info currently

Minimum age: 18

Celebrate Willesden: Celebrate Diversity is an event that will happen on the 12th September 2015 as our new library and cultural centre opens in Willesden Green. This is the first time that such an event has been held in WG but we hope that a smaller version may occur every year in future. It will be held as a mini street festival in the centre of the high street.

What will happen includes:

  • The library includes a museum that will showcase Brent history;
  • The library will host an art exhibition by local artists;
  • Theatre/dance workshops with local residents participating including Irish dancing;
  • Local bands of different ethnicities will be performing in our Music Festival at S Andrew’s Church;
  • There will be a food ‘market’ of local food provided by the diverse ethnicities run by ‘Flavour Lounge’;
  • Local organisations including our History Society will be providing a stall showcasing their work;
  • A roller skating ‘rink’ will be provided by a charity;
  • We shall be hosting some Fitness events such as: Disco Fit; Pilates and Zumba.
