Reviews of Oktoberfest
Over 2,000 bier lovers ascended on the Grade II listed Albert Hall last September for one of the biggest bier hall parties Manchester has ever seen. Oktoberfest at Albert Hall will return bigger and ‘beerier’ than ever for a second year!
The original Oktoberfest in Munich attracts millions every year. All to celebrate the Hops and the limited edition festival biers. Confusingly for everyone, the official festival starts mid- September and ends the first weekend in October. Manchester’s ‘Oktoberfest Albert Hall’ will take place at the same time as the official launch in Munich.
Just like in Munich Oktoberfest Albert Hall will serve the best limited edition beers from the official festival and this year they will be going up against the best of Manchester breweries who will be serving their own limited edition creations. Bavarian powerhouses such as Paulaner, Hacker Pschorr, Spaten will go toe to to with Manchester’s own Blackjack & Seven Brothers to pour what we feel is the finest bier selection on the planet.

ACCESS REQUIREMENTS FORM
Customers with access requirements are advised to purchase a ticket for the event. Please then fill out the online Access Requirements Form once you have purchased your ticket.

Please Note: this form is also to be filled out by people with temporary access requirements, such as broken legs, pregnancy etc.
CARER TICKET SCHEME
Albert Hall's commitment to making the venue accessible to everyone, means that those ticket holders with a disability that require full time assistance with a complimentary ticket for their personal carer/assistant. To take advantage of this scheme, please specify when completing the online Access Requirements Form. You will also be asked to please provide via email copies of recent (2010) DLA letters that show what your current level of care or mobility allowance is. Its appreciated that some people may require assistance but not receive DLA, please contact the venue to discuss your access requirements. Each request will be looked at individually. The scheme is run on a first come first served basis up to the capacity of the venue and/or designated area.
Carer tickets are not sent in advance: the tickets will be issued at the event.
WHAT TO EXPECT ON THE NIGHT
Its advised to arrive 10-15 minutes early. Please make your way to the front doors, where you will be greeted by a member of the accessibility team. The Albert Hall is a Grade II listed building and due to restrictions, there is no lift, however a stairclimber is provided which has a capacity for wheelchairs up to a weight of 200kg. It is a four-story building. The basement is where the cloakroom is located, should you require storing anything please speak to your accessibility team member and they can assist. The first floor has 28 steps from the ground floor box office level, with a handrail. The second floor has 24 steps with a handrail. There are 52 steps between the two floors. The accessibility area is on the second floor. The accessible toilet is on the same level. You will be escorted upstairs by a member of the team to the accessibility area. Wheelchair users will be escorted by a team member from the box office area to the back of the building, to a private stairwell where the stairclimber is operated. The stairclimber takes approximately 20 minutes to reach the second floor. Once arriving in the accessibility area, you will be greeted by a steward who will be located in that area for the duration of the evening. There will be drink servers allocated to this area and who can also assist with any purchases from merchandise. Once the show has finished, if required you will be escorted back down to the ground floor.
The Albert Hall accessibility area is located on the balcony level of the venue. This reserved seated area has an excellent view of the stage where you will be able to fully enjoy the performance. A steward and drinks runner with be provided on the evening to make your stay is more comfortable.
Albert Hall provides wheelchair access for customers who may require this type of service and assistance during their visit. The wheelchair access provided is in the form of a stair climber and secure wheelchair area on the balcony seating area of the venue. To ensure you have a comfortable and enjoyable time you will also be assisted by a fully trained Albert Hall team member in the use of the stair climber. Please note that the wheelchair area only has space for up to 4 wheelchairs and is reserved on a first come first served basis.
Guide/assistance dogs are welcome in the venues. We advise customers who require the assistance of a dog, to fill out our access requirements form which can be located above.
USE OF STROBE LIGHTING/STROBOSCOPIC LIGHTING EFFECTS AND OTHER STAGE EFFECTS
Strobe lighting, lighting that produces stroboscopic effects, smoke machines and other theatrical effects may be used during shows in our venue.
