About The Gathering 2023

Join us at The Gathering 2023 at Inverness Northern Meeting Park on 27th May 2023

Following on from an incredible 2022, The Gathering Festival is back for one day in Inverness, celebrating the best of the Highlands & Scotland.

Live Music, Culture, Food & Drink.

The Gathering Festival is set to return to the historic Northern Meeting Park in the centre of Inverness on Saturday 27th May 2023. The fourth outing of the festival will be headlined by one of Scotland’s most exciting live acts TIDE LINES.

TIDE LINE’s sound is a combination of heartfelt soul, folk philosophy and big guitars with Scotland’s most distinctive new voice in Robert Robertson. The band, whose roots run all across the Highlands and Islands of Scotland down to the West End and South Side of Glasgow, first emerged in the summer of 2016 with the release of their debut single, ‘Far Side Of The World’. The following year they self-released their debut album ‘Dreams We Never Lost’, which became something of a runaway success and led to the band selling out shows across the Highlands and Islands, from Glasgow to John O’Groats and all points in between. The band has also been a resounding success at festivals at home and abroad, playing headline slots to large audiences at the Hebridean Celtic Festival, Belladrum.

Other acts appearing over the one day festival include; the most famous backpipe band in the world the one and only RED HOT CHILLI PIPERS; one of the Highland’s favourite bands and firm festival favourites TORRIDON; amongst the most in demand folk groups to emerge from Scotland in the last decade the ground-breaking, genre-bending TALISK; and energetic Trad/Folk group Hò-Rò.

RANT who are at the forefront of the Scottish fiddle scene will make their Gathering debut as will winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the year 2018, Scottish singer HANNAH RARITY.

The final acts for the moment are Uist 6 piece, the highly energetic contemporary trad band BEINN LEE and our traditional festival openers THE CITY OF INVERNESS YOUTH PIPE BAND.

Music genres: Rock, Pop, Folk, World Music, Country/Americana
