Adeline Yeo, Indie Musician Exclusive Interview

Arnold Schoenberg, Danny Elfman and Jimi Hendrix are just a handful of famous musicians who were largely self-taught and received little formal training. Someday, in the very near future, you?ll find the name, Adeline Yeo, nestled among such respected music icons.

Adeline grew up in Singapore in a close knit family of four. Today, she is an Internet Marketer, but her passion is composing music. With no prior experience, Adeline stumbled upon music composition while playing with a new computer program. After hitting a few sour notes, her fingers grew more nimble, and soon she was creating beautiful music.

Every day she pours her energy and enthusiasm into learning more about her craft and improving her composition skills. Her dream is to continue composing music that thrills her fans and introduces her talent to the music industry.

?I?m passionate about music. It inspires me. Piano music brightens-up my life, and I want my music to do the same for others.?

Besides composing computer piano music, she was influenced by pop genres music artists in Asia. She is also an indie Chinese Pop Singer/Songwriter and she could write beautiful melody for Chinese songs listeners.

Currently, Adeline is affiliate with SOCAN, ACTRA (union of recording artists in Canada) and SoundExchange. She is also an Horus Music Limited Label Music Artist.

If it?s possible, I do hope to become a Semi-Professional or even Professional Musician in the near future What Music activities are you involved in? Recording artist, songwriter, composer, producer, engineer? I?m involved in as an recording artist and songwriter. I?m a singer and songwriter. Usually, my music tracks audio-mastered and produced by audio master professional in their music studio. What aspect of what you do musically, do you find the most fun? I find that actually writing beautiful and meaningful lyrics to complement with suitable tunes is the most fun. How would you describe your music? My music is nice, soothing, relaxing and interesting. Usually, I composed beautiful melody for my fans and listeners. Who is your favourite artist? My favourite artist is Hong Kong Musician, Jacky Cheung. He is a remarkable musician. He has outstanding musical achievements in his music career. Who was your musical inspiration? I was inspired by Taiwan Singer and Songwriter, Sam Lee Sheng Jie. He has an amazing vocal that amaze his fans. What artists do you sound closest too? Maybe, I sound closest to Jin Sha, Mavis Fan and Fann Wong. Because these three music artists, I truly enjoy their vocal singing and their music. What are your goals and aspirations as a musician? My goals and aspirations are I hope to continue growing and expanding my music business and share with more fans and followers who appreciate and enjoy my music creations. I wish to become a successful independent musician in the future. What is another genre of music, different from the one you play, that you like? Another genre of music that I like is rock music. I like rock band such as; Wu Bai and China Blue and Mayday. Because their tunes really rocks like magic. What drives you as a musician to keep making music? My passion and belief drives me as a musician to keep making music. Do you think music is an important life pursuit? Yes, to me music is an important life pursuit. Probably, I?m a creative sort of person and I like creative things especially in music. What advice would you give to young musicians starting out? My advice I would give to young musicians starting out is start slowly and steadily. There are lots of obstacles and challenges in the music industry. Just keep on learning and improving your skills. Create music and share with people with common ground. Don?t give up easily and find opportunities for your music creations. Do you use social media to share your music with others? Yes, I use social media to share my music with others. I use Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Youtube, Weibo, Pinterest and Linkedin. Do you write your own music? No, I don?t really write my own music. Usually, I composed my music through music software because it?s much faster and easier. I?m not that musically inclined with writing music scores. How long does it take you to write a song from start to finish? It depends. Sometimes two days to even one week. I worked on a music project with another music composer before, in one day, I already could come up with my own lyrics. Do you listen to a lot of music? if so what type? I listen to a lot of music. I listen to classical, pop, rock and electronic music What affect do you want your music to have on others? I want others to feel happy, positive and touch by my music creations. How do you deal with writers block when writing music? I will stop for a while leave my desk alone and when I?m able and have better music inspiration I will return back to my desk and continue writing my music. What sort of musical training do you have? I actually don?t have formal musical training. I was only taught of music in high school days music lessons. My final thoughts to inspire young musicians: I hope to gain more support from fans and visitors to my website. Please follow me in social networking sites (if possible).
