James and Twin Atlantic to Headline Belladrum’s 10th Anniversary Festival.

Over the years, Bella has become known for the wide range of musical performances and this year’s carnival themed, 10th anniversary festival is gearing up to be really special. Headlining Bella this year will be Manchester’s Indie favourites James, as well as the Glasgow based alternative rock band Twin Atlantic.

Now in it’s tenth year the independent festival will take place between Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd August in the idyllic surroundings of the Belladrum Estate, near Beauly in Inverness-shire with the beautiful backdrop of the Scottish Highlands.

Headliners James formed in 1982 and have achieved more than 25 million worldwide sales from 13 studio albums with hits including ‘Come Home’, ‘Sit Down’ and ‘She’s A Star’. James has a long history with Bella having made a headline appearance in 2007, an appearance that’s widely regarded as one of the festival’s best moments.

Since their last appearance at Bella in 2008, Twin Atlantic have gone on to become one of Scotland’s most influential musical exports and one of the UK’s most acclaimed rock acts of the past few years. This will be their first festival headline, however if their show stopping 2008 appearance is anything to go by, it’s one not to be missed.

There'll be something for everyone in this year’s Bella lineup, with acts ranging from folk through to rock. The Straits are certain to rock out the festival with all the greatest hits of Dire Straits (The Straits consist of former members of Dire Straits).

Acts confirmed for the Saturday Hothouse Stage include headliners The Horrors, King Charles, Scots indie artists Admiral Fallow as well as Rumours of Fleetwood Mac, Celtic rockers Peatbog Faeries who played the first Belladrum Festival way back in 2004 will also be making an appearance. Making her first appearance at Bella, Lucy Spraggan of X Factor fame will showcase her acoustic-folk-hip hop set, along with other Bella first timers, including indie rock band the Noisettes and emerging soul artist Jacob Banks.

The Black Isle Brewery Grassroots Stage will be headlined by Scots folk star Dougie MacLean, supported by folk legend Martin Carthy. Furthermore, Irish singer-songwriter Gavin James and Rick Redbeard of the Phantom Band will be joined by the pagan, pop-folk all-girl trio, Stealing Sheep and Shipcote and Friends. It’s A Beautiful Day, created during San Francisco’s 1967 ‘Summer of Love’ will also feature, together with folk rockers Treetop Flyers who won Glastonbury’s 2011 emerging talent competition and Scotland’s much loved Celtic rockers, The Dangleberries.
