Exciting news from the frozen North! Our plan which has been hatched across the last few months in numerous smoky back rooms, kitchens and boozers, after endless hours of talking, procrastination and outrageous claims of fabulousness, has finally made it off the drawing board and is hurtling inexorably toward its fruition!
Inspired by clubs and parties, both old and new, from from the likes of World Unknown, Salon Des Amateurs and Blood Sugar to the Back To Basics, Trash and Boys Own, our new party ?Body Talk? will soon to be bringing you, what we hope will be some truly special nights. With a selection of Europe?s biggest and best DJ?s, as well as a few you may not yet be as familiar with, all in a more intimate surrounding than you'd probably be used to seeing their likes.
With ?Body Talk? the programming is to be a little more adventurous, the bookings to be a lot more ambitious, the surroundings far more interesting and hopefully, your night to be a whole lot more fun!
It was the Moon Rocks parties at the recent Late Show gigs at Cobalt that cemented our decision that we'd finally found the people and space to work with to bring our vision to life. The guys there have been brilliant in supporting our ideas and giving us help and advice as well as the encouragement to go through with this project. We really can't say enough good things about everyone involved in that place.
The importance of finding the right venue can't be overstated in Cobalt Studio's we think we've happened on the perfect location for these parties. Their involvement really is key for us. The visual elements involved are nearly always overlooked when it comes to these type of events and was something that we really wanted to put back into ours. We're very excited to have the guys at Cobalt transforming the space for our parties in all kinds of interesting and creative ways. As such, we really think that this will inject a much missed aspect of fun and playfulness sadly missing in a club culture whose currency is almost exclusively one of darkened rooms and faceless DJ's and producers.
So, we?re delighted to bring you the details of our first party on the 20th of August which kicks off at the most unique space in Newcastle, the aforementioned Cobalt Studios, right in the heart of The Ouseburn valley, with a party featuring legendary Ivan Smagghe (LDDLM/It's A Fine Line) and Nathan Gregory Wilkins (Cowboy Rhythmbox/Phantasy Sound). Support comes from the residents, Cubik & Mark Algar.

Low key, high hopes, far out. X
