Brit Award Nominations Announced

Nominations for this year’s Brit Awards have been announced, with Tinie Tempah, Cheryl Cole, Ellie Goulding and Take That all receiving multiple nods.

Nominations for this year’s Brit Awards have been announced, with Tinie Tempah, Cheryl Cole, Ellie Goulding and Take That all receiving multiple nods.

The nominations were announced at a nominations party at London’s Indigo2 last night.

Homegrown rapper Tine Tempah received four nominations, in the categories of British Male Solo Artist, British Single, British Breakthrough Act and Mastercard British Album of the Year.

Cheryl Cole and Ellie Goulding both landed two nominations each, while Take That have been nominated for British Group, and Mastercard British Album of the Year.

Other acts up for awards include Mark Ronson, Mumford & Sons, Plan B, Biffy Clyro and fresh new boyband The Wanted.

Jessie J scored the coveted Critics’ Choice award, which was last year awarded to Ellie Goulding.
The 68 nominations are the result of votes cast by the BRITs Voting Academy, which is made up of 1000 people from various sectors of the music industry.
