The Future Perfect Comedy Night with Russell Howard and friends, 26th September at Manchester?s Academy 1, will see a collection of witty treasures take to the stage, all in support of Music & Art therapy.

COMEDIAN Russell Howard has confirmed he will put on a special performance at Manchester Academy on Wednesday 26 September in aid of local charity Future Perfect.

The gig has unwittingly become the focus of national controversy after ticketing agency Viagogo was exposed last week for selling tickets to the show at hugely inflated prices.

Organisers of the event are advising people to purchase tickets directly from Manchester Academy or authorised ticket agency Skiddle, and to pay no more than the £25 face value.

Howard has waived his fee for the event, which will raise money for Future Perfect, a local community project that fund raises to support ground-breaking art and music therapy for patients at The Christie Hospital.

Future Perfect was set up by Manchester musician and DJ Lee Wyatt.

Despite losing his battle with bowel cancer at the age of 25, Lee recognised the positive power of music and art therapy in helping him cope with the emotional, mental and physical aspects of treatment.

After her son?s death, his mum Linda contacted Russell Howard who was his favourite comedian - to see if he'd participate in a fundraiser on behalf of the charity.

Artists who benefit from the Christie hospitals Art Room will be selling their work at the event in a very special exhibition.

It's looking to be a very positive evening of fun.
