A wave of innovative music created by people with progressive humane views, from different ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds, is about to take the stage in Manchester - a city whose history and atmosphere have proved conducive to its emergence and acceptance, and what better place than the Northern Quarter for hosting an intimate one-day celebration of grassroots live eclectic experimental music, hailing from all over UK. The combination of different musical genres, instruments and even cultures coming together for this event is impressive in it's sheer diversity, each act having its own unique face, creating the impression of a large festival with dozens of performers.

"Watch out for: tAngerinecAt. This is some of the most powerful music I have heard in long time, and it holds a message too... difficult to believe there were only two musicians on stage. They manage a real art; creating sound which people enjoy" - LOUDER THAN WAR.

Multi-instrumentalists gender-queer Zheka and Zhah Bah, using samples, vocals, hurdy-gurdy & whistles, finely craft a post-intersectional, confessional, sexy and dangerous mix of EBM, IDM and rave with personal protest lyrics, sharp satirical imagery and a sweet sadomasochist vibe. Formed in Ukraine in 2008, tAngerinecAt have four albums to date and have performed hundreds of shows all over UK and Eastern Europe.

"tAangerinecAt exploded into my world! Awesome energy and multidisciplinary. Myself and the team at New Art Exchange really appreciated your work"- Jason Pollitt, NEW ART EXCHANGE.

Stephanie Finegan, winner of the Swansea Poetry Slam 2016 and Hammer&Tongue Slam at Edinburgh Fringe this year, who has toured throughout Europe and collaborated with many UK and international artists, will bring a wonderful mix of psychedelic stream of consciousness, urban punk, post-beat poetry and psycho-metaphysics.

"Rarely have I come across a composer-artist possessed of such energy accompanied by the most effortless originality. Stephanie Finegan transcends acoustic singer-songwriter, electronica, hip hop and slam poetry seamlessly, oozing creativity" - John Hywel Morris, PRS for Music Senior Membership Development Manager, Wales

Code: Marla vs Spire Cranes will introduce Manchester to their hybrid of dubstep, trap and post-rock. Using a mix of traditional rock instruments and modern electronic gadgetry, C:M vs SC are set to give you a nights entertainment like you have never seen or heard before.

Confessional experimental synth pop phenomenon Cynthia's Periscope will guide the audience through moments varying from fragile and tender, to harsh and brutal and all points in between.

"Today is the first time I've heard this voice and I won't be forgetting it. She probably doesn't realize just how good she is, but Tekla Szerszynska is a star" - that's what TRU LUV had to say about Tekla - an astonishingly nuanced performer/songwriter and one of the finest lyricists on Manchester's lo-fi solo scene.

"Ethereal lullabies, played and sung in inimitable style?understated, yet brimming with invention and delicate beauty" - CROWFOOT RECORDS.

Innovative fingerstyle guitarist Rik Andrive will be sure to captivate with his self-penned arrangements of the likes of Mike Oldfield and Aphex Twin as well as traditional, classical and original material.

In association with Brunswick Mill Studios.
