Koss is a brand that has been making top-quality audio equipment for over 50 years now, the first Stereophone (SP/3) in the world was created by John C. Koss and Martin Lange in 1958, and ever since that revolutionary invention they've gone from strength to strength. Now, in the modern era, their uniquely designed headphones are making a big comeback thanks to their retro/Y2K aesthetics, alongside surprisingly good sound for the affordable price point (£40-£50 depending on the model). So if the Music lover you're buying for this Christmas also thrives on a vintage/retro look, then look no further than these nifty numbers, the only hard part is not buying a pair for yourself as well.

Parklife Festival 2023

When: Saturday 10th - Sunday 11th June 2023

Where: Heaton Park in Manchester

When buying a present for a music lover there is truly only one thing that will get them the most excited, and that is live music. Now, if this is a significant other, or just a really close friend, then the very best thing you can get for them is a festival ticket, as it's kind of a present for both of you (as you can grab yourself one as well). However, where to go can often be the question, well, we've got two options on this list, and for all of you lovers of dance music, flaring LEDs, two-stepping, and the occasional bit of pop, then Parklife truly is the only place to be. The huge festival has won multiple awards and it's easy to see why it's Manchesters' biggest party of the year! So impress the person you're buying for this year, and get down dancing together!

Custom Vinyl Record

 Image: Printyourvinyl on Facebook

Now this one is an incredible idea that we can't believe we haven't heard of up until now. The company Printyourvinyl will, on their website, let you design your album cover and rear then let you choose up to ten songs that will go on both sides of the record, which will be printed and shipped to you. It's an incredibly thoughtful gift for that music lover in your life and can encapsulate your favourite songs and how they have brought you together. Whilst it is slightly on the expensive side at £100, they often do sales, where you can pick one up for just over £50. Despite being a bit pricey, we can't think of a more thoughtful gift for that music lover in your life.

N-Dubz Reunion Tour

When:  Friday 7th July 2023

Where: Stanmer Park in Brighton

Whilst we can hear a collective groan from you music snobs reading this, for those of you who have a more carefree attitude, we imagine there are some fond memories of N-Dubz. One of the quintessential noughties UK rap/pop trios, Dappy, Tulisa, and Fazer \are back in the 2020s for a nostalgia-fuelled reunion of the highest order. So, if the person you buying for used to blast Playing with Fire from their iPods back when you were younger, we can't think of any better present to put a big smile on their face. Just make sure you're on it with tickets, it will likely sell out quick!

A New Turntable

Image: Audio - Technica Thailand on Facebook

If the person you're looking to buy for has either taken a full-blown interest in the special musical black discs, is interested in getting involved, or has a battered old Crosley that is doing more bad than good to their records, then a new turntable should be high on your list of things to buy. Our recommendation is definitely this Audio Technica LP60 pictured above. Audio technical are a brand highly renowned for its turntables, and this entry-level model is one that will produce much crisper tones than a portable record player, whilst not breaking the bank. It's the perfect gift for the one in your life who wants to make the leap into physical music. just warn them that it comes with strings attached; they will end up spending a lot more money on records, it's a bit of an addiction.

Shame at Invisible Wind Factory

If it's a present for a music fan, then really, the best thing to get for them is tickets to some live music. So, if said person is a fan of indie and post-punk, then the recently announced tour by South London rockers Shame should be the perfect choice. Having just announced Food for Worms, their explosive third record, alongside an incredible first single 'Fingers of Steel' (which sees the band venture into unexplored sonic territories), they are one of the best bands on the circuit right now. It's their biggest-ever headline tour, so if they're a fan, or even if you just think they will be, tickets for this will make the perfect gift.

Lego Jazz Quartet

Image: Brick by Brick on Facebook

Whilst it's all well and good getting the music fan in your life some extensive bit of kit or tickets to a gig, something with Christmas, we want to get someone something a bit fun as well. That's where this awesome Jazz Quartet set from Lego comes in. Watch as their eyes light up in childish delight as they rip off the packaging and see this inside, as it's a damn sight more complex than the lego when we were kids, and looks incredible. It's bound to make anyone smile and will be a great way to pass the time on Christmas Day building it. A more lighthearted gift, but one that will come with heaps of appreciation, as who doesn't like Lego?

Chase & Status, Hybrid Minds, Wilkinson, Friction & more

When: Saturday 11th February 2023

Where:  Blackstone Street Warehouse in Liverpool

Reading through this list, you may have been thinking, well the person I'm buying for is much more of a go-out-and-skank-around-a-sweaty-room-filled-with-euphoric-strangers type of person. Well, don't worry, we haven't forgotten about them, as this incredible Drum and Bass event in Liverpool will be the perfect present for them. Brought to you by Worried About Henry and Chibuku, the night brings many genre heavyweights all together under one roof for a night of skanking and incredible vibes. It's truly the perfect present for the friend who loves the session. Just get the tickets asap, this will sell out.
