Jake Bugg, Tom Grennan, The Blinders, The Mouse Outfit, Blaenavon and more have been confirmed as the first wave of heavyweight acts that are set to perform at Newcastle's Hit the North Festival 2019.

The North East inner city event will take place across the early May Bank Holiday weekend with the main event event taking place on Sunday 5th May and will feature not just big name acts but also a heap of up and coming local, grassroots talent.

Speaking to Bugg earlier this year, he told us about his sets: "I play songs from all the albums, and that's one of the benefits of having a few albums out - I'm not strict because people pay good money to come and see you so you want to create a nice evening for everyone." and this is expected he comes to Hit The North.

As well as the 'Lightning Bolt' singer, there is new kid on the block Grennan who has been one of the brightest breakthrough acts of 2018, pummeling live sensations The Blinders, plus a heap of North East talent including psych and funk influenced Dylan Cartlidge, who makes a welcome return to the festival after performing in Boiler Shop last year.

Other northerners on the bill include Liverpool’s The Mysterines, Fuzzy Sun from Stockport, Sheafs from Sheffield and The Indigo Project from Leeds. Glasgow’s burgeoning music scene will also be proudly represented thanks to The Dunts and ALLIGATOR.
