The trend for back to back sets has been a big one in clubland in recent years, with varying results. For every titanic duel and perfectly weighted pairing, there can be two badly matched artists pulling each other in differing directions - making the artform a novelty rather than a genuine musical experiment.

Once in a while though there is a truly iconic matching, which will happen on Saturday 28th April 2018 at Kentish Town Forum. Two of the biggest lynchpins in the D&B scene will be playing back to back for a monstrous five hours, with LTJ Bukem and Fabio delivering the goods for a Logical Progression/Speed Era set, doffing the cap to the genre's golden age of the mid-nineties.

Logical Progression was the name of Bukem's timeless mix CD series, the first released in 1996, with Speed the clubnight he started with Fabio in 1995. Both the party and the compilation are credited with kickstarting the 'liquid' genre of drum and bass, a sound noted for its musical and soulful touches and remains revered in the minds of jungle heads both old and new.
