Last Minute Edinburgh NYE

There are few better places to partake in a traditional end of year blow out than indulging in an Edinburgh New Years Eve. The home of Hogmanay, the city is ablaze with stuff to do including a traditional fireworks display and probably the biggest global singsong of 'Auld Lang Syne'.

Whether you're looking to engage in all that or just soak up the atmosphere in a venue nearby, NYE in the Scottish capital is still a touch away for those of you not quite sorted with it all yet. Here's some of the best options still out there.

Nightvision NYE (two events) - The Liquid Rooms

Edinburgh's all-conquering club brand Nightvision will host two separate Hogmanay events this New Year's Eve, taking over the whole of the Liquid Rooms complex.

Mr Scruff teams up with long-term collaborator MC Kwasi to bring his patent mix of dub, funk, soul, hip hop and jazz, perfect for the more adventurous ravers. Whilst over in The Warehouse, George Fitzgerald and Fort Romeau will be ticking the boxes for house and techno lovers.

Milk NYE - Toy Story - Bourborn Nightclub

Embrace your inner child this NYE, as Milk transform Bourborn Nightclub into a Toy Story themed bonanza, featuring props and decor inspired by the three film Pixar masterpiece.

Follow in the footsteps of Woody, Jessie and the indomitable Buzz Lightyear with an array of options, including Room 2 transformed into a giant alian claw pit.

Wee Dub Hogmanay - La Belle Angelle and the Mash House

The Wee Dub crew take over two venues for their Edinburgh NYE party, the Scottish specialists in reggae and dub making sure there is a skanking feel to NYE for those ready to embrace their bass-heavy sounds.

At La Belle Angele they host a fine selection of DJs including Dreadsquad ft. Dub Prince, DJ Wrongtom, Jinx in Dub and more bringing the wobble. The second party, at The Mash House, will feature Samedia Shebeen ft. Neil Templar and Selecta Mad Max, plus guests.

Buddhas Hogmanay House Party - Lulu

Edinburgh's much-loved party Buddhas has built a reputation on providing fun and excess, and no truer does that ring in than on NYE. Drinks promos and bouncing Buddhas (where the party gets its name) combine with a killer soundtrack of feel-good hits.

Lulu is a fairly recent home as well, building on the brand's reputation for a killer Friday week in week out. As such it's a pretty foolproof option for those wanting a good time one last time in 2018.
