Wolverhampton's renowned Starworks Warehouse is gearing up for the debut offering of My Fest1val. Set against a unique industrial back drop, big names from across the dance music spectrum are set to descend on the venue, which will be transformed into a multiroom two day party heaven.

Different areas that will be brought to life throughout the two days include a car park, a street closure, and even an engine room, by a line up that is contributed to by fans (see the full My Fest1val line up).

Here at the Skiddle office, we've picked out our five favourites for the weekend.

5. Jaykae

Birmingham's fast rising grime front-runner Jaykae heads out on his 'Where Have You Been' tour later this year, but not before dropping by My Fest1val with his explosive live show.

Having recently had his track 'Toothache' featured on popular US drama 'Power', produced by Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson, Jaykae has been getting attention from all the right places, at a velocity that shows no sign of stopping anytime soon.

4. Mistajam

Find Mistajam tickets

A DJ at the top of his game, Mistajam has come from soundtracking house parties and youth clubs as a 14 year old in Nottingham to championing new music as part of Radio 1's respected team of tastemakers.

Favouring big bass and heavy beats over genre snobbery, this is a DJ who has perfected his craft to transcend the confines of bass music to deliver the perfect soundtrack to Saturday's party at My Fest1val.

3. Josh Butler

Find Josh Butler tickets

Josh Butler is a firm Skiddle favourite. From his powerful underground productions to his high octane tech-laced house sets, the lad from the North West has conquered festival stages and some of the biggest clubbing settings - and his success is more than deserved.

With releases on lauded labels like Kerri Chandler's MadTech, Green Velvet's Cajual and Hector Couto's Roush, there's few young dance music artists who have had an impact quite like Butler. Check out his live stream set for us above to get a taste of his style.

2. DJ Zinc

Find DJ Zinc tickets

With over 20 years experience at the forefront of bass, DJ Zinc has delved into every strain from jungle, to drum n bass, and more recently UKG.

As one of the genre's leading authorities, the no-nonsense attitude towards music has secured Zinc some dancefloor defining tracks over the years, including the massive '138 Trek', 'Blunt Edge' and more recently his collab with My Nu Leng 'Crawler' (listen above).

1. J Hus

Find J Hus tickets

Right now the UK rap scene is as healthy as it's ever been, and arguably the most exciting breakout star recently is J Hus. His wide palette of influences has given his music a gloriously wide-ranging appeal, with UK garage, grime, dancehall and even pop all bringing his sound to a wider audience.

If his trajectory continues at the same rate, with top ten hits, Mercury Prizes and high profile collabs with the likes of Skepta all under his belt, this may be one of the few chances to capture him on a more intimate festival footing.
