A new 1,000-capacity venue in Birmingham has announced the details for its first season which will run from Friday 17th March to Saturday 22nd April.

Scru Club, which is also stylised as [scru:club], is a former 19th-century screw factory located near to the River Rea in Digbeth. The unique industrial space boasts a glass wall which spans across the entire back of the club overlooking the river, and an exclusive custom-built VOID Acoustics sound system.

Scru will host events on Friday and Saturday nights, covering bass and house respectively. Both the main Ephraim Room and second smaller Phillips Room will be utilised throughout the season, with each party built around a specific concept. Bespoke 3D mapped visuals will be projected onto the adjacent warehouse's wall, visible through the glass, and as the sun rises it will reveal the club's own Hall of Fame painted by local street artists.

Friday nights are all about bass and will be programmed by in-house promotion Continuum. The opening night will be headlined by masked London MC CASisDEAD alongside one of the leading grime collectives LEVELZ. The following week Bok Bok and Commodo head to Digbeth. Other highlights include the Hit & Run takeover with Zed Bias and Chimpo on 31st March, as well as Swamp81 with Loefah and Paleman on 7th April.

House and techno heads will be catered for on Saturday nights, with the mighty trio of Valentino Kanzyani, Barac and Priku christening room one on 18th March with a world exclusive, first ever eight-hour B2B2B set. Cocoon takeover Scru on 25th March with Steve Bug and Tim Green, followed by an Abandon Silence and Percolate gathering featuring Magda, Stimming, Jimmy Edgar and Honey Dijon the next weekend.

Going into April, Scru offers up more house goodness in the form of a Hacienda party soundtracked by 808 State and Marshall Jefferson, with Music Is Love hosting room two with DJ Pierre and Justin Robertson. On 16th April Soul Clap go back to back with Wolf & Lamb for a 12 hour of Crew Love special.

The venue will continue to grow throughout the year with a garden and car park expansion planned to take the capacity to a whopping 4,000.
