Conor Molloy sums up his uplifting galloping tunes to perfection... "Most of my songs tell a story" he says "Many of them have a slightly dark aspect to them. I like playing with the tension brought about by a chirpy tune with darker lyrics...."
With everyone from Leonard Cohen to Kirtsy MacColl cited as influences, and with airplay on BBC 6 Music and elsewhere, Conor and his band are making a name for themselves having also supported Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott (formerly of the Beautiful South) on their Last King of Pop tour at Blackpool Winter Gardens, Sheffield City Hall and the Royal Albert Hall to a sold out crowd.
On Sunday 25th August Conor brings his show to the Kings Arms in Salford to promote his new single, Saturday Night, another tune that sits easy on the ear and disquietly in the psyche.
"I have played at The Kings Arms twice before and both occasions have been very special, this time promises to be no less so" says Conor "On the 25th, we will be playing our first full-band gig since supporting two of my musical heroes, Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbott, at the Royal Albert Hall last November. Understandably, we are extremely excited..."
Conor and his band will be supported by Amy Griffiths, a young singer songwriter from Glossop
