In the heart of Digbeth, something new is forming. A vision has taken shape, ideologies of unity and musical passion have joined together and something has been born which celebrates and showcases the true soul of techno.

This is Sentement.

Originating from a desire to unify the global collective that is the techno family and to bring the sounds that make Berlin their European home to the UK, Sentement begins its journey by drawing the UK and Europe together, bringing acclaimed international artists to bear for first time performances in England?s second city, with all profits fostering unity at a local level as they are donated to Birmingham Homeless Outreach, using music to help those amongst us most in need.

The ethos is simple; take the music back to its roots, ensuring that two things are dominant above all else. First, an uncompromising approach to the music. This is underground techno in its purest form. Expect it to be hard, hypnotic, dark and entrancing, all provided by some of the best DJs currently pushing the sound. Secondly, expect the truest sound quality, delivered by one of the UK?s best sound systems, the Void Acoustics Tri-Motion.

This is all hosted by one of Birmingham?s most unique spaces ? Monastery. A raw and stripped back venue that takes a historic space and embraces it?s dark and twisting architecture to provide a location which harkens back to the early years of places like Ostgut. Encapsulating the mood of a time when techno found itself inhabiting; warehouses, factories and other industrial spaces.

Berlin based Resistohr, made up of Brazilian duo Robotiko and Miss Behaviour are known for their pure sound, technical expertise and creative live performances and are leading proceedings for this inaugural event. Their unique presence, both in person and behind the decks is an apt metaphor for the aesthetic that this new event will be championing. They, alongside London?s Chris Stanford, Manchester?s Joel Sutcliffe, A Morgan and Graesonas well as Birmingham residents Theyarenotlocal will be just some of the artists helping to bring this venture to life on 15/09/2017.
