Ahead of his show in the Elgar Room at The Royal Albert Hall on the opening night of Independent Venue Week, we managed to catch ten minutes with legendary Charlatans frontman Tim Burgess. He is the ambassador of the 2017 event, and just one of many spokespeople for the good it does for artists, venues and music fans across the UK.

As well as his own solo performance, Burgess has also been working under his Tim Peaks Diner banner to curate shows across the UK with a host of his favourite bands. These include Yucatan, Horsebeach and Documenta who will play headline IVW shows at their local venues in Bethesda, Manchester and Belfast respectively, whilst supporting each other across the three dates.

Tim also spoke about his experiences at The Royal Albert Hall, where he played with The Charlatans on a couple of occasions, and also witnessed performances from Al Green and Paul Weller. He also looked ahead to the rest of the year where Tim Peaks Diner will descend upon a handful of festivals once again this summer, along with potential plans for a third book.
