The Brighton based, indie pop quartet have been on the receiving end of widespread critical acclaim, following the release of their debut full length record - "Until The Tide Creeps In".

A collection of four minds, expertly merging aspects of their past and current surroundings, with heartfelt lyricism and jagged dream pop melodies, Penelope Isles are an act of unique talent with a fresh take on a stereotypical, indie sound.

Effortlessly combining ethereal guitar and synth lines, with softly delivered vocals and juxtaposed, powerful drum beats, the group manage to accurately depict images of the rugged coastal shorelines and rolling tides, which the foundations of the band's debut album Until The Tide Creeps In, were somewhat indirectly built upon.

Throughout the record, released on renowned indie label Bella Union (Father John Misty, Fleet Foxes, Ezra Furman), songwriters and siblings Lily and Jack Wolter, along with fellow band mates Becky Radford and Jack Sowton, explore themes of love and the subconscious musical connection to the environments they grew up in and around.

In an interview with The Line Of Best Fit, Lily, who was raised on the Isle of Man with brother Jack, said, "I think our music is quite maritime. We don’t really set out to write that type of music but it does have that coastal feeling."

Receiving applause from many within the industry, championed by the likes of BBC 6 Music and drawing comparisons to the likes of Pixies and psych-pop duo Beach House, the band have gone from strength to strength since their inaugural release back in July of this year.

The 4 piece are currently on an extensive tour of the UK running until the end of January 2020, after which they travel to the United States and Canada for a run of 15 shows. It's safe to say we can expect big things from this exciting band in the coming year.
