Description of Sardine
Headed up by Alex Jackson - former Head Chef of 2 Stevie Parle restaurants - Rotorino & Dock Kitchen - Sardine brings wood-fired cooking inspired by the south of France to east London. An uber-cool, laidback venue, expect flavour-rich southern French dishes using the best quality, finest ingredients. Sardine is open for breakfast, lunch & dinner and uses a special "vertical grill" allowing for traditional cooking a la ficelle. Fresh garden peas 'a table' followed by some 'ideal-for-sharing' snacks compliment a menu of starters, mains and some generous sides with new dishes added each week.
The wine list is constantly evolving with good value offerings by the glass / carafe and also on-tap. The French aperitif bar is run by Clotilde Lataille (formerly of Hawksmoor Spitalfields Bar) and impresses with Aix Dirty Martinis, Negroni Jaunes and more.
