Firle House remains closed for major renovations however the recently restored Firle Place Herb Garden will be open again this year giving visitors a chance to see the rejuvenation and growth that has burgeoned over the past year. The Herb Garden is a tranquil haven set in part of the 18th century walled gardens. Lady Gage, who has a long interest in the medical uses of herbs, began work on the design and structure of the garden just over a year ago and Gardener, William Vincent, has taken this vision and transformed the former tumble down, weed strewn, paddock area of the walled garden into a series of perfectly proportioned beds with grass paths and a greengage tree-lined central avenue. The garden is very much a work in progress but is proving of great aesthetic and horticultural interest with a number of garden products in the pipeline including �tisanes� teas and medicinal bath soaks.
