Motown & Soul Nite at Bawa - Friday 7th Oct

It's usually a great venue,but it was a disaster because of the last minute change of venue when Bawa staff only just realised that 220 people for a Cricket dinner couldnt fit in to the Concorde Room !! So theyput the Cricket Dinner in the Ballroom & held our Soul Night in the Concorder Room instead- rubbish decision - our night suffered. Many regulars couldn't get in after travelling across town. Not good.Too hot & crowded so left after an hour & went to Clifton instead.Hope it doesn't happen again. :(

Motown at the Bawa

Was held in much smaller room than uaual, So crowded , so hot, felt aircon couldnt cope with the amount of people. I got there at 9.20pm was packed , no where to sit, hardly any room to dance, not much room to stand,either, with out being in other people way. Was so looking forward to going but if i new it was being held in the Concord room instead of the Ballroom i would have given it a miss .Music , staff etc were great but its just to popular an event to be held in the Concord room.

As usual a very popular event, and unless you live locally & can get there earlier, you need to buy ticket in advance to ensure entrance. Packed by 10 pm. The most popular event in Bristol & sourrounding areas for singles of all ages. Excellent venue. I would also like it to continue after one. Once a month will maintain it's popularity.

had a very good night but i think there should to 2 nights!! over 50's & over 30's as the age range is so fast!! also i think it should end later 1pm is too early!! great venue & music though!!

i have told many a pepole about how good it is there and just thank all the staff for making such a good night for us all there as its not just the music that is good its the staff as well you can go there have fun and fill safe and good music

The music was just too loud which made it very difficult to have a conversation and that spoilt the night for me. The DJs should bare in mind that people meet new people there and we should be able to hear one another without shouting. If the volume was slightly lower than it was it would have been much better.

Hi everyone..... Just a reminder that due to a private function we are not in the Ballroom this Friday but in the smaller room, at the moment there are still tickets available..... We know this room is not ideal BUT it is better than not opening at all.
