Having been spun on BBC Radio 1 by Huw Stephens, featured in Apple Music’s Breaking Rock editorial playlist for much of 2020, covered in METRO - 'New band Pacific are proving indie music is getting a much needed coming back” - and after winning the national vote to play Y Not Festival from 1,000s of acts in 2019, it is clear that the best is yet to come for this rising band. With an appetite for anthems, the band’s electrifyingly immediate singles have brought in strong backing. Regarding radio, Pacific’s 2020 tunes were championed by BBC Introducing from Manchester, including multiple spins and a live session, plus further Introducing spins from Dave Monks at BBC Merseyside and Rob Adcock at BBC Stoke. Additional industry support last year came from Gigwise, XS Manchester, Tom Robinson’s Fresh on the Net, Amazing Radio and Jack FM. Adapting to the times, Pacific have been in virtual high-demand; the band recently released a cover video series in partnership with Blackstar Amps titled “90 Sec Anthems”. Moreover, Pacific were invited to play virtual live sets throughout 2020 - Liverpool Sound City’s ‘Guest House’, the official online afterparty for Manchester Arena’s 25th Anniversary, the virtual Chester Live Festival, and a live Jimmy’s Instagram takeover. Also championing Pacific are Salford City F.C., using the band’s music for the past two years in their social media video material. This only adds to the band’s football acclaim – frequenting pre-match stadium playlists at Manchester United and Brentford F.C., as well as performing at Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium on the City Square stage. Pacific headline Gorilla, Manchester in 2021, following three sell-out headline shows in the area before lockdown, with a flurry of main support slots to The Blinders, All Tvvins and Red Rum Club. Festival dates at Liverpool Sound City and Hit the North Festival are also to be rescheduled. MiG 15 As a concept, MiG 15 began when James McCluskey was a teenager growing up in San Diego, inspired by the fighter jets coming and going from the military bases there. After finishing school, he moved back to Liverpool and was introduced by Ann Heston (wife of the late Alan Wills - Deltasonic) to the former Dustland singer, Adam Bray, which is when things really started to take off. It wasn’t until 2019, after nearly two years of writing songs that the pair felt they were ready to unleash their timeless blend of powerful electro indie upon the world. After some experimentation with the live sound, James Morris on guitar, and Martin Gordon on Drums, were added to the complete the line up. Already working with producers such as Rich Turvey of Blossoms fame, and Tord Knudsen from The Wombats, and with a heavy touring schedule coming up, it won’t be long until they are playing to sold out crowds and festivals globally. MERCY KELLY Formed during the winter of 2019, Greater Manchester 4-piece Mercy Kelly landed on the scene; channelling a stirring mix of Chameleons-esque sounds and stadium sized melodies.
