*WORST PLACE EVER*
(23 november 2019) me and some friends went to favela to a Brazilian party and me, my boyfriend and a friend we was at the bar to take some water, just water, no ice anything, just water. The barman was attending two guys super rude and i was waiting, the guys gone and two girls came after then and he started to serve the girls and i said i was there waiting for just a water. He said *PAY ATTENTION* "shut the f**k up, I'm busy" i waited him to finish, i gently asked for the water he gave me, i said "if you're angry its not my fault" he started to yell to me, i showed the middle finger and he punched the bar door to beat me, my boyfriend stopped him and he pushed my boyfriend and started to yell at my friend ( a girl as well) he said "that's my house you can leave if you want I don't give a f**k" he called the security guys to get me out but nothing happened. I found out he is the f**king manager!!!!!! THE MANAGER. The manager tried to beat a client, a girl client, pushed another one, yell at everyone and it's rude af for no reason.

What chance did back to 88/JLTA or Safari have, of having a good night in the worst run club I have ever been to in over 30 years of clubbing!!!!
I attended Back to 88 and was quite excited as it was the music that got me into raving in the first place and it was being held a newly refurbished club with allegedly a banging sound system.
If this was my first experience of clubbing, I would have been put off for life! Not by the music but by this venue.
If you want a night out, that resembles a prison yard, then Favela is the place for you 100% actually you've got more freedom in a prison yard!
You are greeted at the door by the most unfriendly, rude, unhelpful security team I have ever come across. Ill give you an example.
On my 2nd(god knows why I went again) visit to Favela, I witnessed a guy get searched not but once but twice because they said he looks like a drug dealer! on both occasions they found no drugs and reluctantly let him in the club, only for him to get pulled out of the crowd twice more for more body searches in a back room.
Also at the door, a couple turned up with no tickets and wanted to pay on the door. The security lady, (who if anyone remembers the adult comic Smut) who I can only liken to Biffa Bacons Mum, Ma Bacon told them, "You don't want to come in and listen to this sort of s**t(it was Jungle) do you? The man said, "Yeah I like Jungle." To which she responded, "Look mate take your girl, go get a bottle of wine and f**k off home!" I stood then in shock at hearing this, as I thought the idea was to encourage people into the club, who after all pay these meatheads there wages. The couple then walked away.

Once in the club, it gets totally worse! If you are looking to give yourself instant depression, then Favela is the place for you.

On both visits, I found the club to be lit up brighter than a fireworks display! I thought a nightclub was supposed to be relatively dark with the lights and lasers adding to the evening, not continually shining brighter than the sun!

But this is a crucial way to which this club chooses to operate, because it makes it easier for the turret mounted security to watch everyone and everything and I do mean EVERYTHING!

They have a no caps policy, but you can wear it back to front or wear a cap if they approve. One guy had 2 caps with him and they told him to take one off, but was allowed to wear the other(even though they were the same colour!), when the security walked away, he switched back to the original.
Within seconds they descended from their turret and threw the guy out!

Another man was thrown out because they saw him put something in his mouth, I followed the removal of the man process, which involved some very unnecessary mauling. Once outside his girl friend followed pleading his innocence, stating they had travelled together.
The security told her that they saw him take drugs, so he was out. The guy then said I've never taken drugs in my life, I had a chewing gum and then opened his mouth to reveal a chewed piece of gum.
The caveman security bloke looked at the gum and said, "We don't allow chewing gum in here so your out!" He then turned to the girl and added, "And you can either f**k off back inside or go as well luv!"
I have witnessed so many incidents on my two visits, I'm struggling to remember them all, but here goes a few crackers, that will stick in my mind forever.

They threw a pregnant lady out because they said it was for her own safety!!
They wouldn't make a cup of tea for one of the DJs who'd travelled from Gloucester and then wouldn't allow him to drink an outside purchased cup of tea inside and made him drink it the other side of the barriers.
They stood glaring next to a young man who had travelled from Cheltenham for twenty minutes, which resulted him feeling so uncomfortable he left.
They even threw a girl out for wearing sunglasses, such a crime!
I could go on, but I think I've hopefully got my point across, as to how bad Favela is. This is a newly reopened club and at the rate they are going it will be the most recent club to shut down and I hope it does, so no one else has to experience the bully boy tactics, that I thought were left back in the eighties.

I will finish by saying to promoters and clubbers alike, if you want to hold or go to a good event, then do it anywhere but Favela! 100% The place is a shambles and every single one of the Gestapo security should never be allowed to work at a club ever again.

Security ruined the whole night...
The female/transgender security should not be allowed to search women at all,as she searched my fiance she was touching her up while searching her and was hassling all the women in the venue and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why...
She/he should not be allowed to search women at all.
All the other security had attitude problem's apart from a couple,they was hassling people all night and it was a lovely crowd,they were hassling people who just wanted to rest on the couches and all sorts,BANG OUT OF ORDER...
The venue was terrible and suffered from condensation which was dripping from walls ceiling and sofa's were soaking and some actually squirted water out of them.
The Jesus loves acid crew were cool and music was good...apart from the system.
We will never go to this venue ever again and security should be jogged right on as they must've lost so much money and people's faith in this venue is now...

Absolutely disgusting! I was body searched on the door by female security... Who sexually molested/asulted me. She was challenged by my fiancé as she took so long & was clearly inappropriate & we later found out that she was 'Transgender'!? 🤔 Not female!? 🤔 So why was she allowed to body search me!! She continued to bully & harrase all the women in the club... One woman whilst she was having a pee in the toilet had the door banged hard and loud & asked the security woman what the hell was she doing as she had scared the life out of her! She constantly approached women who were doing nothing wrong & intimidated them whilst chilling & dancing. To top it off she then goaded my fiancé & ask if he was all right... To which he replied no! He challenged her on her behaviour & then the other security guys were trying to rush us out had a really bad attitude. The security bar two guys were an absolute disgrace & acted like they were a police presence. After only a few hours they had thrown out two thirds of the customers who were just dancing & chilling as you would expect anywhere. They must have lost a fortune in bar profit. The place itself was disgusting too... Absolutely filled with condensation, walls & ceilings & the seats had water squirting out of the bases 🤢🤮 Basically the security destroyed our night & that of many others & they were lucky we didn't call the police & press charges on the female? 🤔 transgender? Security. NEVER AGAIN!! 😤😤😤 WE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY ON THAT CRAP!!!

The doorman were disgraceful throwing people out because they had been sick in the toilet but happily to sell them drink people getting asked to leave if they didn't take their hats off they let them in with the hats on but 2 3 hours later decided no one can wear hats was an older crowd 40 to 60 years old wearing flat caps different types of hats I think there was one baseball cap in there all night that was the MC on the stage even asked him to remove his hat throwing people out for the most stupid reasons they must have thrown 25% of the crowd out by 2pm none of which were causing trouble they may have been pulling faces had a little too much but were not troublemakers and happily dancing or sitting and chilling with friends nothing more than you would get in every Club Pub Bar that is a part of the business but the event that was on the promoters were top-notch looked after their customers best they could music was wicked everyone had a amazing night there just a shame about the management Who couldn't even get themselves to open the club at 9 made us wait a whole hour while they cleaned up from their last event second time this is happened at that venue the first DJ didn't even get to play his set which many of us turned up to see terrible management
