Up On The Roof x Tropical Disco Records with The Shapeshifters on Saturday 23rd November 2019
Tropical Disco Records
For our 2nd autumn party, we team up with the excellent Tropical Disco Records, and welcome The Shapeshifters for their debut at The POW.
It’s testament to the quality of The Shapeshifters that they have sustained a successful career for over 15 years. This year's 'Life is a Dancefloor' has been one of the biggest tracks of the summer, with Chic's Kimberley Davis on vocal duties. Last year's 'When Love Breaks Down' with Teni Tinks, and 2018 summer anthem 'Try My Love' have also been dancefloor staples of recent times, and a busy touring schedule and regular shows at Glitterbox events in Ibiza and worldwide have propelled them to the forefront of the contemporary house and disco scene.
Best known for 2004 anthem and UK number 1 ‘Lola’s Theme’, which still lights up clubs around the world, we are very excited to welcome The Shapeshifters for their first appearance at The POW.
Sartorial and Moodena are Tropical Disco - two likeminded individuals, united by a shared passion for music, parties and vinyl culture. In just over a year, they’ve built one of London’s hottest imprints, consistently topping vinyl and digital charts across all platforms with feel-good groovers that repurpose classic disco, funk, jazz, soul and boogie into a modern dancefloor context, breathing a new spirit into the genre of nu-disco. Their bold aesthetic and vibrant sound has attracted the attention of heavyweight selectors across the board, with Chez Damier, Joey Negro, Soul Clap, RNT, DJ Spen, Get Down Edits, Full Intention, Yam Who, Marshall Jefferson to name a few showing continued support.
Support from London party starters MOVE DJs, Jive Talk & Mark Hume
