Biography

London based Sudden Def is a DnB/Bass music DJ, producer, remixer, musician. His versatility, skill, and experience speaks for itself.

After playing on some of London’s biggest early pirate radio stations. His skills quickly moved onto his own productions. Early releases included acid house/hip house tracks, which soon gave way to hardcore/jungle tracks.

Sudden Def signed to legendary hardcore and jungle label Reinforced back in 1992 and after meeting J Majik in 1993, released several tracks on Infrared during the early ’90s. Also releasing under various guises on some of jungle/hardcore’s biggest labels. Dejavu, Planet Earth, 786 Records, amongst others. His engineering/production skills were used by J Majik, Lemon D and many others. Engineering many different genres of bass music along the way.

Now working closely with J Majik & Wickaman and the rest of the infrared camp he has had a number of releases on labels like infrared, DnB Arena, with a Titan release due soon. Under his group name “REWIND” he has released on Infrared, Playaz, DnB Arena, with a Frequency release imminent. And has collaborated with J Majik & Wickaman on recent singles Hologram and ShiftControl, with more due soon. This Year is undoubtedly going to put his name back on the drum & bass map.

His slick DJ skills have seen him booked alongside Andy C, Goldie, Friction, Hype, J Majik, Grooverider, Adam F, Redlight, Wickaman & Sigma. A master of everything from Oldschool and DnB to Dubstep, his unique style has established that he is both cutting edge and grounded in the roots of today’s bass DJ scene. SuddenDef’s firm belief that his lifelong journey as a music junkie has prepared him for everything along the way. It is clear that SuddenDef’s best is yet to come.
