London ?Grunge Soul? 3 piece SABATTA are soon to be of those groups all your friends will be bragging about hearing of first. Don?t be left out ? here?s 5 reasons why to check them and their album MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT.

These words came from Art Terry, presenter of the ?Is Black Music? show, bastion of alternative black music on the Sony Award winning Arts station, London?s Resonance 104.4FM. He?s clearly not the only that thinks so since Yinka has been called upon to appear in TV ads for the likes of Fiat and *ahem* McDonald?s. As well a lending some cool points to James Arthur?s video for this post X-Factor debut single, which helped propel the song to no.2 in the UK charts.
Yinka will also snagged his first major film role in the film A Moving Imagedirected by Shola Amoo. A Moving Image debuted at the LA Film Festival in June 2016 in the Word Fiction category. Yinka?s performance as the character ?Big Ben? who is street musician and ?spirit of Brixton,? has already gained him a glowing review at Hollywood?s Black Renaissance here.
BBC London?s Gary Crowley loves their ?Grunge Soul?!

Champion of new music Gary Crowley has been a staunch supporter of Elephant and Castle?s finest on his legendary BBC London show since he played the advance single Politician (I?m Not A). The esteemed broadcaster has continued to show love to their latest single Middle Of The Night which was released in April of this year.
Crowley is not the only pair of ears at the BBC who?s been impressed by SABATTA?s individual style, BBC 6 Music?s Tom Robinson has exposed them to a national audience. Ironically enough catching the ear of controversial MP Kerry McCarthy. The band is isn?t quite sure what to make of that but they certainly know they make an impression. Soho Radio, Resonance FM, Phoenix FM and more have followed suit ? giving airtime to this truly independent UK group.
Frontline tastemakers Afropunk and Hype Machine have featured them on their sites.

SABATTA have appeared on the Afropunk site a number of times. They are definitely a band on the rise that has championed the alternative black music scene and their recognition by the hottest new tastemakers on the block is therefore only to be expected. It is not clear whether or not Sabatta will be part of the inaugural Afropunk festival in the UK, which has been somewhat mired in the M.I.A. controversy. Regardless SABATTA will continue to bring new music to a new audience hungry for something real that that can feel and touch in a world dominated by cyberspace.
SABATTA is the band version of the Starship Enterprise!

SABATTA represents London?s culturally diversity. Black, white and rock all over. Two British Nigerians (yinka vocals, Debbie ? bass) and Italian (Adriano ? drums) these guys are clearly no Brexiters. They are if anything what the EU is about and what immigration.
SABATTA prove, however hackneyed it may sound, that their is own language that we can all communicate through, regardless of our backgrounds ? music.

With a new monthly night in Camden Town SABATTA aim to showcase their own talents alongside a different special guest each show. The name of the event is really about freedom of expression and keeping that spirit in the presentation of your expression! There is so much dynamic and diverse musical energy in the capital that is often overlooked since it doesn?t fit a specific or well worn genre. Because Sabatta?s own music doesn?t sit neatly in a predefined box they are able to relate and have a mission to expose audiences to new and interesting music at each date of this residency.
