Armin Van Buuren tops DJ Mag Top 100

Love it or hate it, the Top 100 DJs Poll (powered by Trackitdown) is the biggest music poll of its kind in the world - with votes coming from over 170 countries.

In a new record, this is the fifth time the Dutchman has won the poll - having won consecutively between 2007-2010 but losing out last year to David Guetta. Armin was awarded the accolade at the Dutch edition of the Top 100 DJs Poll Awards event, at Amsterdam’s Convention Factory.

The Stateside craze for 'EDM' has heavily permeated this year's poll, with Tiesto, Avicii, David Guetta and Dedamau5 all appearing in the Top 5.

Armin Van Buuren said: “2012 opened new doors. David being number one last year, the popularity of Avicii, Swedish House Mafia and Afrojack, for dance music, it’s amazing. It was great that David got it last year, to show dance music is evolving and it’s still exciting. Being number one again feels fantastic - there’s so much love out there. I’m so thankful for it."
