Be a Whizz and Zip for Sight!

Sight Concern Worcestershire is offering you the chance to zip wire off one of Worcestershire?s most iconic buildings ? the Clock Tower at Abberley Hall School ? on Saturday 9th or Sunday 10th June. This is the first time a zipping event has been held at this venue.

Penny Weir, Fundraising Officer for the charity says, ?No previous experience is required. Our fully trained instructors will take you through everything to make the experience special for you and keep you safe?. She added, ?Friends and family can come along, watch the spectacle and enjoy the day?.

One of the companies already signed up is a team of 11 from Fortis Living. Sharon Price, one of the brave recruits says, ?We?re all so excited about this challenge and some of us are more than a little apprehensive but we know the event will be well organised and great fun. We?re also delighted to be raising money once again for such a wonderful local charity.?

She added, ?We?re all zipping in the same time slot ? 1pm on Sunday 10th ? so that means we?ll have plenty of time to celebrate our achievement with a picnic in the beautiful grounds of the school in the afternoon.?

Jenny Gage, Chief Officer at Sight Concern added, ?We hope as many people will sign up for this spectacular event. We?re so grateful to Mr Will Lockett, Headmaster of Abberley Hall Pre, Pre-Prep and Nursery School for allowing us to use the venue for a second time ? the first was a very successful abseil in 2016?. A £20 booking fee applies and zippers are asked to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship. Everyone will receive a Certificate of Achievement and a photograph of them just before ?take off?. Anyone raising £100 or more will also receive a special T-shirt.
