SCIENCE, SCIENCE, SCIENCE!

Following last Summer's epic Live From Jodrell Bank Transmission 001, which saw The Flaming Lips perform against the striking surroundings of the world famous telescope, the unique event returns in late June for a full weekend of live music headlined by seminal acts Elbow and Paul Weller.

Live From Jodrell Bank Transmission 002 on June 23rd 2012 will see the Mercury Prize and Brit Award winning Bury band Elbow take to the stage for one of their most unique shows to date, as they bring their inimitable live performance style and captivating showmanship to this exceptional location in the heart of the Cheshire countryside.

Transmission 003 will bring the original Modfather to Jodrell Bank. With a career spanning more than 30 years, Paul Weller's song-writing forms a huge part of British Culture and June 24th will see this much loved artist showcase hits from his early days in The Jam, to his much loved hits with The Style Council, as well as a solo career spanning over 20 years.

Both acts will be joined by special guests, to be revealed soon.

Throughout the day, attendees will be able to participate in a range of hands on workshops and explore the outer reaches of the universe at the Discovery Centre.

The Live From Jodrell Bank series sees the creative minds behind Kendal Calling, The Warehouse Project and Ear To The Ground marrying science and music by bringing some of the world's most innovative artists to this unique and dramatic setting, and projecting visuals onto the 76 metre Lovell telescope.
