Futura presents: Greg Fenton & John Morales @ 2022NQ

Manchester's premier art space and underground cultural hub, 2022NQ, is preparing to play host to an exciting new night: Futura, on Saturday 27th April.

Futura is the brainchild of Greg Fenton, a DJ and renowned producer, who since 1985 has been involved in residencies at legendary clubs around the British Isles, from humble beginnings in Belfast, to more prestigious residencies mostly based in Manchester. Sighted as an influence by artists such as The Chemical Brothers, and with regular slots at Hacienda, Golden, Back to Basics, and Shindig, Greg is a man who knows and loves his music, and has years of experience in knowing how to work a dancefloor.

After a slew of well received productions in the past, 2011 saw Greg’s return to producing on Manchester Underground Music imprint as well as Mad-Hatter Recordings. With his focus greater than ever, his new club night Futura is something we’ve all been excited about.

Futura’s first guest DJ slot will go to DJ and legendary NYC producer John Morales. With Futura’s aim being to connect the dots between underground disco, Chicago house, and deep house, John Morales will certainly be bringing his extensive disco knowledge to the party, and will show why, for the past 30 years, he has been one of the most influential players in his field.

With frequent appearances at such iconic venues as Stardust Ballrooms and Studio 54 from the 70’s onwards, the crowned king of Disco edits and later one of the most prolific and well respected remixers in the field of disco, funk, and soul, has remained at the top of his game as his contagious enthusiasm and downright skill have continued to gain him new fans. With a forthcoming compilation on the way for BBE records, his one off set at 2022NQ is setting up to be something really memorable, and not to be missed.
