Here at Sheffield Techno Institute we've been carefully counting the pennies made in our favourite pub to work towards putting on a bigger party for the people we love and have finally decided to step it up. Although really its more of a leap.

On 12th of May we will be moving to the Fez club for the night, an equally intimate venue but with more speakers, more people and more hours of the morning. Most exciting of all we are bringing one of our favourite Techno artists to Sheffield for an extended 3 hour set. His tunes regularly appear in sets from everyone, be it the Berghain residents or Richie Hawtin, and he's also the producer of 2011's most exciting techno album. It's our pleasure to bring you the UK's most consistent techno innovator...

LUKE SLATER (Mote-Evolver/Ostgut Ton)

Having burst back onto the scene in 2009 with his Planetary Assault Systems 'Temporary Suspension' album on Berlin's leading Ostgut Ton label, Luke Slater has been instrumental in reinvigorating the scene which he helped to create by bringing back techno's traditional, purist values. Slater's many incarnations have, at various points in the past two decades, come to define techno.

In 2011, the veteran producer announced his next P.A.S album on Ostgut Ton; 'The Messenger', a real electronic album that is as listenable as it is challenging, memorable and progressive.

Meanwhile, Lukes Mote-Evolver imprint has impressed with a run of very well received releases spanning the range of the genre. With dancefloor bombs from P.A.S, Shifted, Marcel Fengler and Lucy amongst others, Mote Evolver continues to deliver fresh momentum to the scene with releases of consistent quality and varied content.

Luke will be joining us for an extended set on 5 decks, bringing the sounds that have destroyed the biggest dancefloors in Europe to the techno lovers of Sheffield in an intimate setting. Don't miss this!
