Mixmag Live, the events project of the hugely influential magazine, sees two rip roaring showcases in March, and we've had a look at them both.

We do love Mixmag here at Skiddle. The original rave tome since before we even thought about listening to loud music in fields and warehouses, the magazine has evolved from a manual for DJs to a global authority on electronic music, and naturally that ethos has translated well to putting on parties.

Mixmag Live sprung up as an events arm of the talent they were covering in the Magazine, with the star adorning the cover of each issue mixing a free CD and appearing at a specialist event. It’s a mandate that flashes its claws with visceral intent in March, with a double header of showcases that sees the Mixmag Live manifestation taking place in two of the UK’s capital cities, Cardiff and London. Here’s what they have in store.

Mixmag live presents Seth Troxler @ The Great Hall, Cardiff 7th March

First up is a rare jaunt out of London for the ML party, with Seth Troxler joining them in Cardiff. The clown prince of techno, Troxler has been one of the most talked about presences on the global dance music scene since first coming to prominence in the midst of the last decade. As the noughties dwindled into this one he became increasingly more prominent, blending his own effervescent personality with the music to create a truly iconic figure.

Passionate and outspoken to boot (he’s clashed with Nina Kraviz and DJ Sneak publicly), none of this has ever managed to overshadow his music, where his prowess for seductive funk, panoramic techno or a drawn out groove has been a signature of his sets and productions. He's also one of the totems of house music super-group and record label Visionquest, and will be treating the Welsh rave fraternity to three hour set guaranteed to showcase his

He’ll be joined by alliterative nouveau house wonders Citizen and Christoph (check out the latter’s still fresh Skiddle Mix above), complementing Troxler's sonic range perfectly. The second room swaggers to a bassy output as Ben Pearce tops the offerings, with Real Connosieur, Harry Wolfmann and The Organ Grinder adding to the histrionics. Tickets here.

Mixmag Live presents Hot Since 82 @ East London Warehouse TBA, Saturday 22nd March

London sees the return of Mixmag a little over two weeks later in the month when an unnamed east London location sees the focus shift to deep house don Hot Since 82. The Leeds based producer has been re-imagining house music with his take on the genre for a few years now, breaking out of the underground with considerable clout via his rework of Yousef's 'Beg', a track omnipresent on dancefloors across the planet towards the latter stages of 2012.

That release flew out on Defected, but he's also lit up labels such as Get Physical, Moda Black and Noir Music, whilst partnering up with Yousef again saw another global dancelfoor smash with his superlative rework of Green Velvet's 'Bigger than Prince' last year. Little Black Book sees him continue his trajectory towards superstardom, the Moda Black release part mix cd part production resume, and is out today.

He'll be joined by Okain alongside more guests to be announced too, as well as the identity of the warehouse used for the showcase. Head here for more ticketing information
