Techno queen Nicole Moudaber is starting a new chapter in her musical life with the launch of a colossal series of events with her love of underground music as the driving force. Her success has stemmed from her unrelenting determination to create quality dance music with exceptional flare, while running of her own flourishing record label.

After falling in love with techno in New York, Miss Moudaber began her journey to reach musical stardom, and on her way proved that she could effortlessly blossom and excel in an industry dominated by men. She oozes charisma and class, and her own productions and live presence speaks volumes.

On Friday 17th October the MoodRAW series of events hits Crucifix Lane in London. We caught up the woman behind it all to find out more.

Hi Nicole, you're bringing MoodRAW to London this October, could you tell us about the series of events and the vision you had for it?

MoodRAW is all about one space, one crowd and the music. There will be no fancy lights or production, just music and a mood all night.  We’re doing the parties in London, New York, LA, Chicago and Montreal. Warehouses, dark boxes, is where I found myself in the past and it’s time to revisit and experience it again with music lovers. I will have guests on certain shows and at others I will play all night.

Carlo Lio and Francisco Allendes are joining you for this party, what is it that you love about them and their music that encouraged you to welcome them on board?

I love their productions and they’ve both featured on MOOD Records. Carlo needs no introduction, to me he’s one the best tech house and techno producers around. Francisco is a rising star, he’s a super-talented boy and his DJing is equally amazing. I’m really looking forward to this party in London, it’s always great to play at home.

You run the Mood Records label, what do you enjoy most about having control of your own imprint?

The creative side for sure. I’m always excited about new music and new artists. When the music is good it needs to be heard and played as simple as that. I’m not interested in generating hundreds of thousands of dollars from it, I love the music and I want to share it with like minded people. The excitement is great with each release, be it from established artists or new comers.

We're loving the I'm Whippin I'm Dishin EP you've just released on Mood, the track sounds funkier in comparison to some of your previous productions, did you know what direction you were going to take it in when you began producing it?

I always produced that style really. This was done last year actually except for the remixes, which is why I decided to approach Gary and Robert. They were the perfect guys to give the original different sounds and make their own take on it.

When I make music I always have an idea but the direction takes shape as I go along in the studio, Some days it can take a tougher or deeper form, it depends on my mood really. I always follow my heart and ears, I don’t plan much but I do have a clear idea when I start a project.

What has been your favourite release on the label to date?

They’re all my children, I can’t choose.

What was the highlight of the summer for you?

Space Ibiza takeover of the main room B2B with Carl Cox as well as Paradise and Circoloco at DC10. Very memorable moments right there.

Finally, a hypothetical question, if you could have any artists, past or present play at a special MoodRAW party, who would you pick and where would the event take place?

Sven Vath in some German bunker
