Brazilica is a spectacular celebration of Latin American culture unrivalled in the UK. A whopping 80,000 made the trip to Liverpool last year and more are expected this year.

With a huge 20 events taking place across the city from the 12th - 20th of July showcasing the vibrancy and rich cultural heritage of Brazil, the annual arrival of Brazilica is something that has to be experienced to believed. Culminating in a monumental samba carnival on Saturday 20th July, the city centre of Liverpool is set alight with the electrifying sights and sounds of a full on carnival. Featuring the biggest and best Samba bands from right across the globe, all donned in the most creative, sparkling, flamboyant garb you’ve ever seen, this edition of the Brazilica experience is shaping up to be the most audacious one yet.

With the festival winning a nomination for Best Cultural Event at the Brazilian International Press Awards and the Juice RM Style Awards, and with an ever increasing audience and range of programming involved, Brazilica is certainly a standout achievement, a party unlike any other, a fitting summer celebration that captures the imagination.

What’s more, this year heralds the arrival of the Brazilica After Party to be held at Liverpool’s number one nightspot - HAUS Warehouse. An array of stunning carnival queens, Samba bands and drum troops will continue the party until the early hours. There will also be live performances from a selection of the best artists featured in the carnival. The night will then carry on with DJ acts playing out samba and Latin house vibes until 4am.

There will be street-food vendors at the venue for people who have danced throughout the day, and there will also be a Caipirinha cocktail shack for that authentic flavour of Brazil.

If you can think of a better way to herald the arrival of summer than in true Brazilian style, we’d like to hear it.
