THE WICKERMAN FESTIVAL 2004

Friday 23rd & Saturday 24th of July

East Kirkcarswell Fram, Nr. Kirkudbright

Situated in rural Scotland The Wickerman Festival is now in it’s 3rd year, and thanks to hard work from all the people from Rerrick Events and the genius of Jamie Gilroy (the Wickerman Festivals Michael Eavis), it’s now become one of the UK’s truest and best alternative festivals with a line-up that's bigger and better than last year. Headliners for the 'Woodward Stage', on Friday night are Spiritualized, with support from legendary festival band the Levellers and glam-metal anarchists Anti-Product.  Saturdays headliners are...the Buzzcocks!  Bringing the support are Aereogramme and Skiddle faves Degrassi, so you’re already guaranteed a fantastic night of Scottish Rock music before the mighty punk legends take to the stage.

And that’s not all. Over the weekend you’ll have the choice of the 'Woodward Stage', the 'Summerisle Stage' for new talent and up-and-coming bands such Carina Round (a definite must see), The Sundowns, and The Zephyrs, then there's the Locked tent with the best in dance music, the Scooter Tent, the Acoustic Stage, and if you're the kind of festival goer that needs some Ska, dub, jazz or jungle all coming from the same place, you’ve got the mighty Axis Sound System playing the best in Ska, Dub, jazz, and jungle.

Nigel Buckland, the Welsh wit and film critic who described the Blair Witch project as " a bunch of twats who go out into the woods and don't come back again" is set to MC and generally abuse and ridicule the audience from the safety of the main stage at the 2004 Wickerman Festival.

Legendary Axis Sound System confirmed for Wickerman 2004!

Axis Sound System have been on the road since 1992 bringing the best in vintage music to venues, festivals and carnivals all over the UK.

The thing that gives the music another dimension is the sound system itself, hand built by founder member Dr Huxtable, it reaches the parts other P.A. systems cannot reach.

Carrying on the tradition of the sound systems of the 1970's + 80's is the speciality of AXIS, working with artists such as Max Romeo, Dillinger, Trinity, U. Brown, Culture, Prince Hammer and Junior Murvin.

The 2004 Wickerman Festival will feature the Axis Sound doing what they do best, with touches of SKA, ROCK STEADY, BLUES, JAZZ + JUNGLE.

They will also have the regular record and CD stall packed with original vinyl gems.
