One of Manchester's most loved clubnights re-enters the scene after a nine year absence on Saturday April 1st, setting up at The Refuge with a revival of its free-spirited heyday to the sound of high end house, disco, funk, soul and acid.

Having limited parties to annual in demand blowout End of Year Riot and Croatian festival Electric Elephant, the Electric Chair itself has been sorely missing from the city since 2008, which makes its imminent return a huge deal. The night has enjoyed the presence of the underground's finest selectors, with Francois K, Mr Scruff, Idjut Boys, Andrew Weatherall and Theo Parrish appearing in its illustrious past.

The chair is plugged back in with Black Science Orchestra, Ballistic Brothers and former X-Press 2 member Ashley Beedle taking on headline duties. The Back To World Records boss is one of the UK's most revered producers and selectors, busily crafting era-defining music inspired by funk, acid house and deep disco. He was even name-checked in Daft Punk's hero-worshipping paean 'Teachers'.

The clubnight's overseers and founders The Unabombers join him to provide exquisite support for the night's momentous return.

Tickets go on sale Thursday 9th March at 12noon. Once on sale, get Electric Chair tickets here.
