The Skiddle Gig List: Upcoming gigs and tours across the UK

Well, it's March, and we're finally starting to see glimpses of the weather getting better. So why not look ahead to spring and summer and secure yourself some tickets to see some incredible live music? Well, you don't have to worry about any of that, as Skiddle is here with our March edition of the Gig List, where we scour our gig directory and pull out some of the very best gigs happening in the coming weeks and months with tickets still available. 

There are huge outdoor summer shows from acts and icons like James, New Order, and Avril Lavigne; awesome intimate shows from upcoming acts like Rosellas and Home Counties; and some of the coolest acts from overseas coming for UK tours like Pond and Slow Pulp. New Order live at Alexandra Head

When: Thursday 22nd August 2024

Where: Alexandra Head At Cardiff Bay in Cardiff

New Order are a band so deeply entrenched in UK music folklore that we're sure we shouldn't need to give them any introduction. But for those of you who do, born out of the ashes of Joy Divison, New Order transformed popular music, giving it an electronic edge and making history with their track Blue Monday.

Rosellas

Where: Nice N Sleazy in Glasgow

Brought to you by the indie pioneers This Feeling, Manchester's latest export of the indie variety, Rosellas, will be making the trek up to Glasgow this month to take on the hallowed grounds of Nice N Sleazy. Channelling the bands of Manchesters' past, and giving the sound a modern spin, the Rosellas are on the rise at the minute and don't look like they're going to be stopped anytime soon.

Any fans of underground guitar music will be at home here, and the Rosellas don't half know how to craft a catchy tune, so if you fancy a cheap gig in the heart of Glasgow, from a band who look set to go onto bigger and better, then head on down, who knows you may leave with a few new tracks for the playlist!

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - On The Mount At Wasing

When: Wednesday 26th June 2024

Where: Wasing Estate in Reading

It's fair to say that Sophie Ellis-Bextor is having a resurgence right now thanks largely in part to a particular scene in the film 'Saltburn'. Her single 'Murder on the Dancefloor' has shot up the charts in the UK and across the world, putting the spotlight once again on an absolute banger.

She'll be playing a huge show at the Wasing estate in Reading this summer, where she'll be going through her whole catalogue of dance-infused pop music. Taking place on Wednesday 26th June, she'll also be joined by Fat Tony and Princess Superstar. Grab tickets now!

Home Counties at YES

Presented by Now Wave, Home Counties are bringing a special gig in the intimate surroundings of YES's Basement in Manchester. Having supported genre heavyweights like Shame and Pip Blom - the 5-piece makes melodically rigid, socially charged anthems that are lyrically tongue-in-cheek and scathingly satirical.

Aussie psych-rock outfit Pond have a new album on the horizon, their full-length release since 2021’s ‘9‘, and to celebrate its release, and showcase the new tracks live, they will be heading out on tour at the back end of the year, and this show at XOYO in Birmingham looks to be among the pick of the bunch.
