Venue Focus: Gorilla

It's no secret in Manchester that Gorilla delivers the best of both worlds; amazing live bands and a selection of some of electronic music's finest all make their way to the venue situated in the centre of the city every month.

The eclectic mix of line ups bring elements from across the musical spectrum, and their unique bookings and keen eye for the most relevant talent has secured Gorilla as a firm favourite with Mancs, and they've pulled it out the bag yet again this winter.

Proceedings kick off in the form of the Big Ibiza Reunion courtesy of Time Bandits on Saturday 22nd November. After a season spent planning villa and pre parties, they welcome Hot Creations and Defected signed Kevin Knapp to take centre stage while we relive our time on The White Isle (check out his OFF Recordings mix below as a taster). Continuing the Balearic grooves are Thomas Peppe, Sion and Griff.  

On Friday 28th November 4YOU will be hosting their launch event. Providing the progressive house soundtrack is Nik Denton, who has had his fair share of experience behind the decks of world class clubs including Sankeys and Fabric, and has held a residency at Trade. Also on the bill are Harley Sanders and William Sizen Bell.

Departure Lounge are set to throw a free party on Saturday 6th December with their residents, it's a first come first served basis and tickets are to be downloaded. The following Friday Substance bring the Madchester spirit to Gorilla with a little help from Happy Monday's Bez and the notorious Dave Beer. 

Fast forward to Boxing Day and the One Records crew are headed to Manchester to celebrate the label's fifth birthday. Leading the celebrations are the men behind the imprint, Subb-an and Adam Shelton. The house and techno heavyweights (check out the track and remix above from them) have enlisted the help of John Dimas and trio Pirate Copy.
