Yellowman and Dillinger Spotify Playlist

Legendary reggae artists Yellowman (main image) and Dillinger are heading out on tour this Spring. Icons of reggae, Yellowman overcame an upbringing in an orphanage and being an albino in Jamaica to become one of the most talked about and talented artists of his era, influencing hip-hop stars like KRS-One and The Notorious B.I.G. Dillinger's era was earlier, representing the hard hitting second wave of Jamiacan stars in the mid seventies.

The iconic Jamaican toasters will be hitting the UK for eleven dates from February to March, taking in cities such as Glasgow, Manchester and Cardiff, before ending the tour in Brixton on Sunday 9th March. So we curated a short playlist featuring 20 of their best moments - stream it below via Spotify.

It takes in Yellowman's biggest records 'Zunggguzungguguzungguzeng' and 'Nobody Move Nobody get hurt', as well as his cover of Ray Charles' 'Hit the Road Jack'. His fondness for interpolating the lyrics of others into his work is also showcased, particularly the way John Denver's 'Take me Home, Country Roads' is fed into 'Jamaica Nice' and 'Nobody move...' riffing off of Toots and the Maytals' iconic '54 46 that's my Number'.

Dillinger's efforts reflect his broad range of musical acumen, with dubbed out tracks complimenting his signature cut 'Cocaine in my Brain' and it's sister hit 'Marijuana in my Brain'.
