Review of Middlesbrough Preloved Vintage Kilo
I loved the idea of this event being held in Middlesbrough and the atmosphere was good. Expect I think the venue was far too small for the amount of people. The spot light lighting was horrendoussly dark! nobody could see the sizing of the items and they were way too crammed. Need more rails! It should have also been advertised around the town centre

went to vintage clothing sale. Clothes packed too tightly on rails, difficult to browse. Lighting very bad for this sort of event, coloured and bright lights made it difficult to see. Venue looks fantastic.

Review of Middlesbrough Preloved Vintage Kilo
I love vintage kilo fairs and have attended a few in the past. It’s good to find a bargain and spend time looking through the rails for a treasure.
I’ve attended two of the fairs at the Middlesbrough Empire location.
My pros to having the event in this location are that it’s local and that the music and atmosphere is good as it’s a nightclub/ entertainment venue. It’s cheap for me to attend and the location is easy to get to if using public transport. There’s also plenty of car parking not too far away from the venue if you travel in the car.
I felt secure and safe as there was plenty of staff on hand. Also security were in place which was good. Sometimes these fairs can crazy and it’s easy for you to misplace belongings.
My cons are that the venue is too cramped and small. Really poor lighting, which is difficult when shopping for garments. It’s horrible for individuals in wheelchairs and those who have pushchairs.
The lines to the changing rooms take up time.
There’s no corner to use to try on clothing.
I managed to find a quiet area near a large mirror but told I couldn’t use it as I was blocking the access door for the photographer who wanted to get to the balcony. (FYI - the photographer was absolutely lousy! Seriously, I think I could have trained my cat to take better photos than this guy!)
I enjoy these events very much. I guess to keep costs to a minimum you have to look at using cheaper locations to host these fairs.
I know the town hall in Middlesbrough (which is pretty much next door to the Empire) has hosted vintage fairs in the past which were excellent. Good lighting, more space and areas to try on clothing.
