Motown May 7th

An other great night, very popular,only problem was people taking drinks on dance floor . Nothing was said about it & pint was spilt & it took a good 5 mins b4 someone came to clean it up.

Another great night

Very busy, because its so popular, another great night. Wll be getting online tickets for June (as recomended ),as being held in the Concord room on that night.

Full House

Thank you to all of you who came to our party night in February...... we had a full house and had to turn lots of people away....We do not like turning our Members away so please ensure you get to the BAWA early or better still purchase your tickets in advance. We apologise to all those of you who did not get in....... Please understand that WE WILL NOT admit anyone after the fire regulation limit numbers are reached.... no matter how far you have travelled...

Full to max, turning people away by 9.50pm, very hot & not much room on dance floor, long ques at bar, but good night as always.

The Christmas Party

Thank you for your comments.... please remember that the BAWA is a multi events centre which means we do not get the use of the bigger room in December - but always consider the smaller room better than nothing at all. Tickets are available all year to each months event, however although most people pay on the door during the year it is always a good idea to purchase tickets in advance for special events like Christmas, they can be purchased when we are open at the BAWA or on line. Happy New Year..

Tamla Motown Soul Dance Party

Hi,I had a great time, never been in the concorde room before but I totally agree, far too small! would have been alot better in the ballroom.
I can't wait for Jan. I luv it!
One thing I would recommend is on the flyer's you send out Please could you state you need a ticket or book on-line, someone was not allowed entry cause they did not know they needed a ticket. I know cause I missed out last year!

I wouldnt recommend this room at all ,far too cramped,far too hot ,much better in the ballroom ...and what happened to dressing up for a xmas party? the men certainley didnt bother ,very disapointed....

Would have been better in the ballroom, more space & bigger dancefloor, didnt dance much dew to lack of space but had real good night as always.

Didnt like the Concorde Room - too cramped and very hot!

hope to be at the dance in February! cant do the one in January as my mate gonig on holiday! :(

Tamla Motown Soul Club Classics Dance Party 4/09/09

I've never been to one of these events before but I found mysef up for trying something new so my friend and I got dressed up and went!!
The hall was a great venue for such an event! As it said 'over 30's' I thought there would be a good mix of ages but I definately noticed that the crowd was a lot older. The music was from that era - as promised - but I found that it was all at the same tempo and I felt like I was at a wedding reception! Im really not complaining because I had a good night but I found the music quite mellowing and gave no rise in the atmosphere on the dancefloor!
Would I go again?? I think I might but I would definately bring a bigger crowd of people with me so that we could make our own entertainment!
In this members opinion - if the night I attended is typical of the Tamla Motown Soul Club Classics Dance Party nights in general, then it is definately aimed at the older market!
Give it a try though......it's alright!
