Review of Giants Of UK Reggae
Great event despite the rain early on .
It would have been better if dawn penn had turned up in time for her slot really wanted to see her ! Don’t know why she couldn’t have gone on later and just extend the event time ??

To be honest both Maxi Priest and Aswad were amazing and the venue was beautiful but the organization was shocking. We were kept waiting in a car park for over an hour in the rain waiting to enter the venue . The event was supposed to be gates open at 4.30 with first act at 5. There were no toilet facilities available as the toilets were inside the venue. When asked if it was possible to use toilets was told no as no one was allowed entry until go ahead was given and was suggested we go behind a bush!!! When we were finally allowed into the castle at 5.30 we were still kept waiting until 6.45 before any live music began. By this time most people were soaking wet and cold as the rain had been continuous. As I said previously both Aswad and Maxi Priest were fab but the third advertised act did not come on and the show ended abruptly at 10 pm and no apologies or explanation was given as to why Dawn Penn did not appear. My partner was extremely disappointed as she is a fan of Dawn Penn and that was her main reason for going. We were quite upset and felt that the promoters could have at least explained what was going on and apologized to the crowd. Poor organisation and disrespectful to those who spent money on tickets ,travel and accommodation!!!

The atmosphere was amazing! Unfortunately, one of the acts did not show up. Also Maxi Priest began playing one of his classic songs and then had to leave the stage due to the time being past 10pm, the crowd thought he would reappear to perform the song but this did not happen. The show ended abruptly.
Facilities were good, staff were friendly.

Shocking! Vip was a complete joke, empty room no chairs or tables, 3 toilets. Had to use general toilets. I have no idea what we actually paid the extra for. Bar staff were also shocked and said they had never worked in vip that was so poor! Only 2 acts instead of 3. Complete rip off!!! Not happy at all. Full refund should be issued.

Disappointing about Dawn Penn, final act not appearing as advertised. The venue was outside carnival/ Festival style, porta loos and all but this was NOT as all promoted or made clear when purchasing tickets! We found out an hour before we left to go to the gig via Facebook. Luckily the torrential rain stopped and the atmosphere was great. Both Aswad and Maxi were amazing. The food availible was extreemly diapointing and over priced, only a berger van with NO veggie or vegan options. Not a jerk bbq pan in sight, missed a trick there!
The sound system was average, not true Reggae style, couldn't even feel the base.
